Last Sunday was the day, debut in the triathlon of Noordwijkerhout, I was here last year for training.

On Saturday, while with a club genootje felt the water and made a small detour, to thereafter be partially explore the bike trail (apparently not good enough). In middig all preparations on the bike, etc.. done and I was ready for the big day.

Just warming up water flow through the pack and wait for the start. Spanning. And here we go. I was pretty far to the right start considering my drift to the left and it went surprisingly well. Swimming struck me all along, but really hard it was therefore not. On the picture you see me with the laggards with swimming. The bill is reasonable, Water uitrennend I get difficult the top of my suit loose and keep the pipes a little hooks on the bike. Cycling went well, actually fairly little experience still to ride such distances just so hard for a first timer without velocity was duly. Na 5 rounds (10km too much) anyway is going to change. Also in the bill are still some points for improvement. My feet were wet so I was not socks, but then out, big mistake. Feet are covered with blisters. The first round race felt really cunt to, thought I really did not come forward, and here and there a little pains and labored breathing. Second round began to arise acid and cramps in my quadriceps, but I walked by and disappeared again. It was one of a closure of pijntjes.Toen I ran beneath the line for the 2nd time I saw colleagues who were already ready. I thought to myself that's not possible, I do it so very bad? At the start of the 3rd round I really wanted no more, I cried to my mother, but standing on the side and told me to walk through. Third round rebounded fairly and smoothly run, I feel the best round. In the final round began to cramp my entire midriff, but also through that run to the finish. It's a weird feeling with that running, you know you can louder, your heart rate rises can but your legs just do not want.
After the finish, my father said immediately that I had a round lot of cycling and after some research it seemed that so. Leather tip for next time. With the net from last time is not entirely dissatisfied. Zeker omdat ik denk met 10km minder ook beter had kunnen lopen.

Duidelijk is dat zwemmen en lopen de verbeterpunten zijn voor volgend jaar, dat is waar de focus ligt.

    Hoi Mark, heerlijk die gezonde zelfreflectie. Punten voor verbetering blijven er altijd. Would you really have cycled a lap too much then you would have the fastest bike time of all! The winner will cycle around 1 uur, average speed above 40 p/u. Did you do the right distance cycled? An average of around 36 is also nice though…..

    Wonderful story Mark! The beauty is that you swim the laps run and do have counted correctly. And you're gefinished. An additional piece of cycling is the true spirit of a triathlete:-)
